Arong Serait Waterfall

Arong Serait Waterfall – Kampung Selabat, Kuching

Arong Serait Waterfall is becoming a favourite weekend hiking and picnic spot for locals near Kuching. The hike to Arong Serait offers a good workout and a dip in the cool pool is such a wonderful reward.

Arong Serait Waterfall is in the backyard of Kampung Selabat, Muara Tebas, Kuching. Kampung Selabat is about 17km from Kuching. A quick half hour drive and you will already be at the starting point.

The Trail

The trail starts with a casual walk through the village garden which then fades away into secondary forest. This is great as it provides a cool canopy away from the blazing hot sun.

Secondary Jungle

The trail begins interestingly with a gradual climb before ascending to the waterfall. Along the way take time and enjoy the lovely forest views around you.

Getting to the waterfall

Towards the end of the trail, one would need to climb down to the waterfall pool area. Be extra careful here as it can be very slippery.

Once you are passed this slightly tricky part, then you are rewarded with a lovely cooling pool to dip in.

Total distance from starting point is 1.8 kilometres.
